Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using SmatSchools ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions, you must not access or use the Platform.
Description of Service
SmatSchools provides a cloud-based school management platform that includes student management, staff management, attendance tracking, grade management, fee management, communication tools, and reporting features. The Platform is offered subject to your acceptance of these Terms.
Account Registration
To use the Platform, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information as necessary. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
User Responsibilities
As a user of SmatSchools, you agree to:
- Use the Platform in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
- Not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
- Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform
- Not interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Platform
- Not upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any malicious code
- Not use the Platform to send unsolicited communications
Data Ownership and Privacy
You retain all ownership rights to the data you input into the Platform. SmatSchools does not claim ownership over your data. We process your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data.
Subscription and Billing
The Platform is offered on a subscription basis. Fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis, depending on your chosen plan. All fees are non-refundable except as expressly stated in our refund policy. We reserve the right to change our pricing with 30 days' notice.
Free Trial
We may offer free trials for a specified period. At the end of the trial period, your access to the Platform will be limited unless you subscribe to a paid plan. We reserve the right to modify or cancel free trial offers at any time.
Intellectual Property
The Platform, including its code, design, layout, graphics, and documentation, is owned by SmatSchools and is protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Platform for your educational institution's internal purposes.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SmatSchools shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claims under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Platform at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform will immediately cease.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Nigeria. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Lagos, Nigeria.
